Are you looking for a COVID-compliant virtual sporting challenge this January?
Would you like to connect with family, friends or colleagues to raise money for Sepsis Research – the UK’s only sepsis research charity?
This New Year between 4th January and 4th February you can run, walk, cycle or swim the virtual distance from a location of your choosing – your home, place of work, school or club – to the Roslin Institute, home of the world-leading GenOMICC study funded by Sepsis Research (FEAT).
The GenOMICC project has at its heart the understanding of how an individual’s DNA affects their chances of suffering from and recovering from sepsis. Around 50,000 people die from sepsis every year in the UK – more than one every 12 minutes – and many others are left with life-changing complications as a result of the disease. It can affect any of us, at any time. The GenOMICC research has also been collecting and analysing samples from COVID-19 patients since March 2020 and promises significant answers for both diseases.
The need has never been greater.
